I also read Year of Wonders by Ms. Brooks, another excellent book based upon a true tale of an English town beset by the plague in the 1600s. I devoured that book all in one sitting on my flights to Los Angeles. I would highly recommend either book.
And now for some delicious words. These cookies are so good! Very light and crispy. The vanilla filling is just right. Excellent with icy cold milk. Confession: Mr. O and I devoured one entire box in one sitting.

Those cookies sure look yummy. I'd eat the whole box too!

I LOVE to read. Always looking for a good book. To be honest I have not read alot of historical fiction. But these sound intriguing. As for the cookies, when you find something you like that much, you must INDULGE yourself. I want you to know I love the header photo. Your pups sweet face to greet me every time I visit makes me smile. Take care.
Yum yum yum. A one sitting box of cookies most definitely. Will check out MARCH sounds most interesting and a captivating read too.
My MOM loves Civil War stuff. One of her favorite places is Harpers Ferry VA.
Nothing better than one sitting cookies. MOM wonders what the carb count is.
Blessings,
Goose
