If you are eating or especially drinking soda from a can put it down before reading this post

I don't know if any of you also saw this story on Good Morning America this week but it is yet another reason to just drink water and brought back a memory of my teenage soda-drinking years.

When I was a pre-teen it was a major treat to be allowed to enjoy a can of icy cold soda. Yes, back in the day one could just not grab a snack, one needed permission to raid the fridge for a treat. So one afternoon after school I was drinking (with a straw) from a can of RC Cola. It was the last RC Cola I ever drank. As I got down to the bottom of the can I began to swish it around and thought there was something lumpy in the can. There was. Upon opening the can a large hairy mass of what looked to have been a spider had managed to crawl into the can of cola before it was sealed. My mother and I were aghast, I cannot even begin to tell you how upsetting it was and it was many years before I could drink a can of soda again!! So the possibility of a mouse in a can of Mountain Dew was pretty amazing and not only that but Pepsi's claim that the MOUSE WOULD HAVE DISSOLVED IN THE CAN!!!!!!!! No further comment....

What ingredient could be in soda that would dissolve a mouse? My doctor told me once she only lets her children drink root beer because there is no caffine in it. I've heard that Mountain Dew has the highest quanity of caffine of all sodas.

Royal Crown Cola was my aunt's drink of choice way back when. I used to hate it. You poor thing. Finding that spider mess made a lasting impression, for sure. I would have been sick, when I saw it. I can't imagine finding a mouse. And to think it might disolve in there, makes it worse. What kind of excuse is that? Certainly NOT comforting. I don't drink soda or eat canned vegtables. WATER is good. Take care.

OK, I admit to having trouble finishing my diet coke after reading that, but I was brave. Does give one pause, though. Maybe you have happened on a good diet technique. I didn't eat macaroni and cheese for decades after eating it once as a kid coincidental with getting violently ill with the flu.
