It snowed all weekend in Anchorage. Temperatures in the teens. Slippery. Lots of accumulation. I think I shoveled the dog paths at least 3 times. I lost count. We could not take a walk even if we wanted to. The snow was so deep and just kept falling heavily.
We hung around the house most of the weekend, well except for Sunday when I braved the roads to play tennis with my Sunday group. I am not a risk taker on icy roads. Thought I would show you how my snow piles are coming along. The dogs are able to access half of the yard. Makes it easier for me to clean up after them and also in case a moose visits, they are confined to a part of the yard I can get to easily to round them up quickly.
The snow piles alongside the dog paths are practically eye level! I sent the big girl, Halle, into the unshoveled portion of the yard to give you an idea of how deep the snow is in that area. She was very displeased. Oh well, that is our Diva!

You look like you have MORE snow there now than we did during the entire Blizzard of 66. LOL But seriously I don't know HOW you do it. It's GORGEOUS to look at, but otherwise, FORGET it. I've had so many near misses on icy roads I just don't venture out in it, anymore. Then I get CABIN FEVER. Vicious cycle every winter. You've been busy shoveling that Doggie Path over and over again. It did really PILE up. Your furbabies really appreciate your effort. They looked so HAPPY to have someplace to walk. Halle could have been caught in a mini avalanche in that other part of the yard. My goodness. She was a BRAVE Snow Bunny. ENJOYED the video. I hope you get a reprieve from the snow. Take care. Stay warm.
Wow I just love looking at your snow photos. I love the snow but realistically we don't get much in England and have to go to Europe to enjoy it. It is cheaper to look at your pics and can be done from my house too. Thank you. :)
You captured a wonderful picture of Halle in the snow. It should be in a magazine or win an award! I can't imagine all the snow you have to deal with. I do like how quiet it is after a snowstorm though. Very peaceful.
So much snow! I'm glad you stayed in where it's warm and safe! Well except for tennis but a girl as got to do what a girls has got to do! Love the video! It's so weird to not have snow here...sunny blue sky day here but bitter cold! Happy Monday!
Halle did a great job demonstrating the snow levels! You are wise to be cautious when there is snow and ice. I hear about people with broken hips lately and that is sometimes a long recuperation. I am impressed that you do all that snow shoveling. I am still whining about my back from the last time shoveling the snow. Most of ours is melted now and the yards are full of leaves. I did not rake leaves. How am I ever going to take care of the yards here by myself!
i know its a lot of snow for ya. but i think it looks like SOME much fun.
Blessings,
Goose
Oh lady we hope the tennis courts were plowed. BOL
Benny & Lily
well, now i know where all the snow is. can you share some with me? i am sooo snow deprived! the pups look so cute!
While I am most impressed with Halle...I'm very impressed with you following behind with your camera! My goodness! Oh wow I just don't know what I'd do with all that snow and more to come! Yowzers...good thing you have tennis to keep you sane!
Hugs and SUNSHINE
It is a mystery to me how one gets through winter in the northern territories. Ya'll have true grit.
I just don't know what to say about all that snow but wow. I was just reading on yahoo about all the snow you had and thought I'd pop over. You have in there. You are so much stringer than I am.
Wow! Look at all of the snow you have already, Halle! We are so jealous!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
Oh my stars the piles are high and it isn't even the end of January yet! A cute video. xo
